Time tracking and timesheets for consultants

TimoDesk is time tracking software for consultants. It records hours for each client as you work and turns them into a monthly PDF timesheet you can bill from. Clients can also get their own login. $1 per user per month.

Consultants

Tracked hours instead of memory

The invoice goes out on the first. The hours behind it were pieced together on the 31st from a calendar, some notes and memory. It takes time, it often misses hours you worked, and it is hard to defend if a client asks about it. TimoDesk records your hours as you work, for $1 per user per month.

A record the client can check. Send a PDF timesheet, or give the client their own login.
The month

Recorded on the day, not rebuilt at the end of the month

Each filled square is a day with time tracked for a client. The empty squares are days you did not work. None of it was rebuilt from a calendar at the end of the month, so a client can trust it when they read it closely. The month shown is a made-up example.

Every client is a project

Hours are saved to the client they belong to while you work, so you never have to split them between clients weeks later. It's built on project time tracking, kanban boards, timesheet exports, and screenshots.

  • A project for each client, with a kanban board Split each engagement into tasks with due dates and time estimates, and track time on them.
  • Project timing that updates as you work See the hours add up on each engagement while the work is running.
  • App and website usage for each project See which apps and websites you used for each client.
  • A client login for each engagement Clients see only their own projects in the client portal, with the screens you turn on.

Timesheets

A timesheet, with the details behind it

Monthly timesheets export as PDF for the client. If a client asks about a line, the screenshots and activity for that time are ready to show.

  • Monthly timesheets exported as PDF
  • Weekly worklogs while the month is still running
  • Screenshots and activity to back up each hour
  • A time calendar to check the month before you send

Questions

Consultant time tracking questions

What independent consultants ask before they bill clients from tracked time.

Does TimoDesk create invoices for consultants?

No. TimoDesk does not invoice your clients. It creates the timesheet you bill from, as a PDF you can attach to your own invoice.

Can I keep time for several clients separate?

Yes. Make a project for each client. Reports run per project, so you never have to split hours between clients later.

How do I show a client my hours?

Send the monthly timesheet as a PDF, or give the client their own login. The login shows only their projects, with the screens you choose, such as time reports and tasks.

What do screenshots add for my clients?

They add proof behind each hour. Screenshots are taken while the timer runs and linked to the task, so if a client asks about a line on the timesheet, you can show the work behind it.

Can a solo consultant use TimoDesk?

Yes. There's no seat minimum, so one person pays $1 a month for every feature. You're billed only for months you track time.
