TimoDesk 2.0.0 is here, and it's a whole new app

Today we are shipping the biggest update in TimoDesk's history. Version 2.0.0 is not a patch. It is a rebuilt product: fully native apps for Windows and macOS, a hardened sync engine, and one promise engineered into every layer: your tracked time can never be lost.

Native on every platform

TimoDesk 2.0.0 runs as a true native application on each operating system. The Windows app is built on .NET, the macOS app is built on Swift, and our proven Linux build completes the family. The result is faster startup, lower memory use, and deeper integration with your OS for more accurate activity tracking, all wrapped in the same familiar interface you already know.

Goodbye, sync errors

If you have ever watched "Sync failed" messages pile up in the corner of your screen, or been logged out in the middle of a shift for no reason, this release is for you. The new sync engine renews your session silently in the background, heals device mismatches automatically, and never signs you out because of a network blip or a server hiccup. You sign in, you work. That is the whole story.

Your time is safe. Period.

This was our number one engineering goal. In 2.0.0, tracked time is only removed from your computer after our server confirms it has been stored. Working offline for five hours? All five hours deliver when you reconnect. Laptop died mid-task? The tracker checkpoints your session every few seconds and recovers it on the next launch. Session expired while you were heads-down? Your time waits safely, encrypted on your machine, and uploads the moment you sign back in. Every tracked minute is treated like the billable work it is.

Sharper, more trustworthy numbers

  • Activity percentages now reflect your real keyboard and mouse activity, with no inflated readings.
  • The desktop timer stays perfectly in step with your web dashboard.
  • Daily totals reset exactly at your organization's midnight, not some other timezone's.
  • Idle time is handled identically on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Support that sees problems before you do

2.0.0 ships with built-in diagnostics. If anything ever goes wrong, the app reports it to our support team automatically, with the context we need to fix it fast. In many cases we will have a fix rolling out before you would have written to us.

Upgrading is automatic

There is nothing you need to download. The next time you open TimoDesk, it upgrades itself to the native 2.0.0 app. One heads-up for Windows users: during this one-time upgrade a black window may appear for about a minute. That is normal. Do not close it, and TimoDesk will reopen on its own. You will be asked to sign in once, and from then on everything syncs automatically.

Installing on a new computer? Grab it directly from our download page.

If you believe any time went missing on an older version, contact support before you update and we will help you restore it.

Download TimoDesk 2.0.0 and track time on an app that finally works as hard as you do.
