Member Details Page: See One Team Member's Work in One Place

The member details page in TimoDesk shows everything about one team member on a single page: their tracked time, activity, projects, tasks, apps, websites and screenshots for the dates you pick. Organizers and Business Managers can also edit the member, change their projects and set their tracking policy without leaving the page.

Say a client asks how much time one designer spent on their project last month. Without one page for that person, you open a time report, then an app usage report, then the screenshots, and filter each one to the same person and the same dates. None of it is hard. It's just slow, and it gets slower every time you check on someone before a one-on-one or a review.

What is the member details page?

Think of it as a profile for each person in your organization. The header tells you who they are and whether tracking is on. The tabs below show what they worked on.

Every tab is already limited to that one member, so you never pick them from a filter again. You only choose the dates. The page has six tabs:

  • Overview: totals, top projects, top tasks, top apps and websites, charts and a task overview.
  • Projects: every project the member tracked time on or is assigned to, with time and activity.
  • Time & Activity: the member's time and activity report.
  • App Usage: the apps they used while tracking.
  • Websites & URLs: the websites they visited while tracking.
  • Screenshots: their screenshots, in a card for each day.

How do you open a team member's details?

  1. Click Members in the sidebar.
  2. Find the person in the list. You can search by name or email.
  3. Click their name, or open the action menu at the end of their row and choose View profile.

Member names link to this page in other parts of the dashboard too, such as screenshot sections and team activity, so you can often jump straight to a profile from wherever you noticed the person. The page opens on the Overview tab. The members guide covers the Members page itself.

What does the header show?

The top of the page shows the member's photo and name, followed by a short line of facts:

  • Their role: Organizer, Business Manager, Team Manager or Staff.
  • Their email address, with a green dot once it's confirmed.
  • Their phone number, or No phone if none is saved.
  • Tracking On or Tracking Off.
  • Screenshots On or Screenshots Off.

Those last two answer the question that usually comes first: if a member has no time this week, is it because they didn't work, or because tracking is off for them?

To the right of the name is a row of icon buttons. Which ones you see depends on your role and on the member. Each one is covered in the actions section below.

What does the Overview tab show?

The Overview is the summary you'll read most often. It follows the date range you pick and opens on the last 30 days.

Three headline numbers

Three cards sit at the top: Total Logged (time tracked in the range), Avg. Activity (the average activity percentage) and Projects (how many projects the member worked on).

Top Projects and Top Tasks

Top Projects lists up to five projects with the most time in the range, with Total Worked and Activity Percentage for each.

Top Tasks lists up to five tasks with the most time, with the project each belongs to and the total worked. Each task shows a status of Completed, Ongoing or Pending, and the task title opens that task's analytics page.

Top Apps & Websites

This card has two tabs, Apps and Websites. It shows which apps and websites took most of the member's tracked time in the range.

Timing Chart and Average Activity

Timing Chart shows the hours tracked each day, and Average Activity shows the activity percentage for each day. Together they make gaps, short days and unusually long days easy to spot.

Task Overview

The last card covers the tasks assigned to the member as of today. It shows a Completion rate, counts for Completed, In Progress, Due in 7 Days and Overdue, and a breakdown called Open Tasks by Priority. Because it reflects where the tasks stand today, it doesn't change with the date range.

What do the other tabs show?

When the summary raises a question, the other tabs hold the detail.

Tab What it shows How it's grouped
Projects Each project with total time and activity. Open a project to see its dates, then a date to see the tasks worked on that day. Project, then date, then task
Time & Activity Tracked time and activity for the dates you pick, with export. Group by Date or Group by Project
App Usage Apps used while tracking. Group by Date or Group by App
Websites & URLs Websites visited while tracking. Group by Date or Group by Website
Screenshots Screenshots taken while the member tracked time. One card per day

The Projects tab also lists projects the member is assigned to but hasn't tracked time on yet, so you can see work that was handed out but not started.

The Screenshots tab loads more days as you scroll, so a long range doesn't slow the page down. Click a day's card to open that day on the Screenshots page for a closer look.

If you want the same figures for the whole company instead of one person, the reports are still there. Our guide to the reports managers should check every week explains which ones to read and when.

How do you change the date range?

The Overview and Screenshots tabs each have a date filter on the right side of the tab bar. Click it and pick a ready-made range:

  • Today or Yesterday
  • Last 7 Days, Last 15 Days or Last 30 Days
  • This Month or Last Month
  • Last 6 Months or This Year

You can also choose your own start and end dates. Future dates can't be selected.

The Overview and Screenshots tabs keep separate ranges. You can leave the Overview on This Month, look at yesterday's screenshots, and come back to find the Overview unchanged. The Time & Activity, App Usage and Websites & URLs tabs have their own date field at the top of the tab, next to the grouping choice.

Who can see the member details page?

The page is for people who manage others:

  • Organizers and Business Managers can open the details page of any member in the organization.
  • Team Managers can open it for themselves and the members of the teams they manage. Anyone outside those teams is off limits.
  • Staff can't open member details pages.

If you're still deciding who should hold which role, read what team managers and project leaders can access first.

What can you change from the member details page?

The icon buttons in the header turn the page from a report into a place where you can make changes.

Edit Member

Organizers and Business Managers see a pencil button that opens Edit Member. There you can:

  • Change the member's Phone number.
  • Change their Role, when you're allowed to.
  • Turn Member is active on or off.
  • Turn Able to track time on or off.
  • Turn Able to capture screenshots on or off.

Click Save Changes to apply everything at once. For someone waiting for approval, the popup shows Approve Member and Reject Member in place of the active switch.

A few rules apply. Tracking can only be turned on for an active member who has confirmed their email, and screenshots need tracking to be on, so turning tracking off turns screenshots off too. Business Managers can't edit Organizers, and only the owner can change another Organizer's role. Nobody can change their own role or the owner's.

If you give a Team Manager a different role, the popup warns you that they'll stop managing all of their teams. The teams' members, projects and tasks stay the same.

Projects

The briefcase button shows how many projects the member is on and opens their project list. You can take them off a project, or click Assign Projects, pick one or more projects and click Add to Projects. Projects can only be given to active members who have confirmed their email.

Teams

If the member belongs to any teams, a teams button lists them. Organizers and Business Managers can remove the member from a team here.

For a Team Manager, a second button opens Assigned Teams, the teams they manage. Organizers and Business Managers can assign more teams or remove them as manager. If teams are new to you, start with organizing your workforce with teams.

Tracking Policy

The gear button opens Tracking Policy for this member. You can set their idle timeout, screenshot interval, screenshot capture alert and manual time rules, or leave each one on Organization default. Each choice saves as soon as you click it.

The button doesn't show on your own profile or the owner's, and Business Managers don't see it for Organizers. To set these rules for many people at once, see our guide to tracking policies.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I see everything one employee worked on in TimoDesk?

Open Members, click the person's name or choose View profile from the action menu, and pick a date range. The Overview tab shows their total time, activity, top projects, top tasks, apps and websites, and the other tabs hold the details.

Can a Team Manager view any member's details?

No. A Team Manager can only open the details page for themselves and the members of the teams they manage. Organizers and Business Managers can open the details page of any member in the organization.

Can staff open the member details page?

No. Staff can't open member details pages. The page is available to Organizers, Business Managers and Team Managers, and Team Managers only see members of their own teams. Staff see their own time, activity and screenshots in their dashboard.

What date ranges can I use on the member details page?

You can pick Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 15 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, Last Month, Last 6 Months or This Year, or set your own start and end dates. The Overview opens on the last 30 days.

Why can't I turn on screenshots for a member?

Screenshots need tracking to be on, and tracking can only be turned on for an active member who has confirmed their email. Turn tracking on first, then screenshots. Hover over a grayed-out switch to see which reason applies.

Does changing a Team Manager's role affect their teams?

Yes. When a Team Manager gets a different role, they stop managing every team they managed, and the popup warns you first. The teams themselves, their members, projects and tasks don't change.

One page for every team member

The member details page replaces a round of filtered reports with one profile. The header tells you who the person is and whether tracking is on, the tabs show their time, activity, projects, apps, websites and screenshots, and the buttons let you fix what needs fixing without leaving the page.

Next time someone asks what a team member has been working on, open their profile and pick the dates. Not using TimoDesk yet? Start your 15-day free trial, no card needed, and see it with your own team.
