TimoDesk Partner Program: How Referrals and Payouts Work

The TimoDesk partner program pays you $10 in cash for each new organization you refer, once that organization has paid TimoDesk $10. You apply at partner.timodesk.com, share tracked campaign links or a coupon code, and withdraw your balance by PayPal or bank transfer, with no minimum. Anyone can apply, and we review each application.

If you write reviews, run a community or set up tools for clients, you recommend software all the time. Here is how to join, how referrals are tracked and how you get paid.

What is the TimoDesk partner program?

It is a referral program with its own partner portal, separate from the TimoDesk product. On the public website it is called the TimoDesk affiliate program. You do not need a TimoDesk subscription to take part.

You share a tracked link. When a team signs up after clicking it and its payments to TimoDesk reach $10, a $10 commission goes into your balance right away. It is paid once per referred organization, not as a share of every invoice. TimoDesk sets these terms and can change them, and your dashboard always shows the ones that apply to you.

The application asks for your main promotion channel, which shows who the program is built for:

  • Blog or website
  • YouTube
  • Newsletter
  • Social media
  • Paid ads
  • Community or forum
  • Agency or consultancy
  • Podcast
  • Other (you name the channel)

How is it different from the in-dashboard referral program?

TimoDesk customers also have a separate referral program inside the dashboard. The two do not mix.

TimoDesk pays once for each new organization. If a sign-up is credited to a partner, nobody gets referral credit for it.

How do you join the TimoDesk partner program?

  1. Create your account. Go to partner.timodesk.com and open the Become a partner page. Enter your full name, email and a password of at least 6 characters, agree to the Program Terms and Privacy Policy, and click Create account.
  2. Verify your email. When asked, enter the 6-digit code we email you. You need a verified email before you can request a withdrawal.
  3. Tell us about you. Pick your country, and add your company, website, phone and social profiles if you have them. Country is the only required field, and it decides which payout methods you see later.
  4. Tell us how you will promote TimoDesk. Pick your main promotion channel and describe your plan in 50 to 2,000 characters. Audience size, main market and audience type are optional.
  5. Click Submit application. You get an email that confirms we received it.

We review each application and email you the decision. While you wait, you can sign in, update your profile, read the program terms and open a support request. Once you are approved, your first campaign, named Default, is ready to share, and the Promote, Performance and Payments menus appear.

If an application is not approved, the dashboard shows the reason and the date you can edit it and apply again.

A campaign is one tracked link. You start with the Default campaign and can create more.

Campaigns, sub-IDs and QR codes

Open Campaigns and click New Campaign to make one link for each place you promote. Each has a name, a code (3 to 32 letters, numbers, dashes or underscores, or leave it blank for a generated one), a destination page and private notes.

The Link Builder adds up to three sub-IDs to a campaign link. Sub-IDs tell your own placements apart, for example a newsletter from a video, and they show up in your reports. They live only in the link you copy, so build a new link for each placement.

Every campaign also has a QR code you can download as an SVG file. A scan counts as a click.

You can deactivate any campaign except Default. A deactivated link still sends visitors to its destination, but clicks and sign-ups are no longer tracked.

How a sign-up is credited to you

When someone opens your link, the click is recorded and saved in their browser for the link tracking period shown on your dashboard. If they create a TimoDesk organization in that browser within that period, it becomes your referral.

The most recent click wins. If the visitor later clicks another partner's link, the sign-up goes to that partner. Each organization can be credited to only one partner, and only once.

Partner coupons

A partner coupon is a discount code TimoDesk can give you to share. A new team that enters your code while creating its organization gets the discount, and the sign-up is credited to you even without a click. A link click within the tracking period still wins over a coupon. You cannot create coupons yourself, so open a support request if you would like one.

When does a referral earn a commission?

A sign-up alone earns nothing. The commission is earned when the referred team's payments to TimoDesk reach the minimum deposit, which is $10 today. Several smaller payments that add up count too.

The Referrals page shows a status for every team, plus a Deposit Progress bar that tells you how much more the team needs to pay.

Status What it means
Signed up The team created an organization and has not paid anything yet.
Trialing The team is in its free trial and has not paid anything yet. Most new teams start here.
Paying The team has paid, but its total is still below the minimum deposit.
Qualified The team reached the minimum deposit, and the commission was added to your balance.
Rejected TimoDesk found that the referral is not genuine. It earns nothing.

When a referral qualifies, the commission goes into your balance at once as Available. There is no holding period. You get a notification in the portal and an email.

Organization names in the portal are partly hidden. You see enough to recognize a referral, but not who the customer is.

What does the partner dashboard show?

The sidebar groups the portal into Promote, Performance, Payments, Support and Settings.

  • Dashboard: clicks, sign-ups, qualified referrals, conversion rates and commission for the dates you pick, plus your link, your balance and your latest referrals.
  • Campaigns and Coupons: every link and code with its clicks, sign-ups and commission earned.
  • Referrals: every referred team, filtered by status, campaign or sign-up date.
  • Reports: performance by day, week or month, with breakdowns by campaign, sub-ID, country, device and referring site.
  • Withdrawals and Transactions: your payout requests and every credit and debit on your balance.
  • Support Requests: messages to the partner team about General, Payouts, Technical or Promotion topics.
  • Account: your profile, password and how you promote TimoDesk.

How do partner withdrawals work?

There is no minimum to withdraw. You can request any amount up to your available balance.

  1. Open Withdrawals and click Request Withdrawal, or use the Withdraw button at the top of any page.
  2. Pick a payout method offered in your country, such as PayPal or bank transfer.
  3. Enter the amount. The dialog shows any charge, the processing time and what you will receive.
  4. Fill in the Where to pay fields. Payout details are not saved, so you enter them on each request.
  5. Send the request. The amount leaves your balance right away and shows as in progress.

The partner team reviews and pays each request. The partner payouts guide has more on charges and methods.

Status What happens
Pending Waiting for review. You can still cancel it, and the amount returns to your balance.
Paid The money was sent. The details show a payment reference and the date paid.
Rejected The request was declined. The full amount returns to your balance, and the email gives the reason.
Canceled You canceled it before it was reviewed, and the amount went back to your balance.

What are the partner program rules?

Read the Program Terms linked on the sign-up page before you start. These are the rules the system enforces:

  • No self-referrals. A sign-up is not credited to you when it uses your own email, your company's email domain, or a network you signed in to the partner portal from in the last 30 days.
  • New customers only. If the person signing up already owns another TimoDesk organization, the new one does not count.
  • One commission per organization. Later payments from the same team do not earn a second commission.
  • Referrals are checked. Unusual patterns, such as many clicks or several sign-ups from one address, are flagged for review. A referral found not to be genuine is rejected.
  • Your account must be approved to earn. While an account is suspended, its links still take visitors to TimoDesk but track nothing and earn nothing. Commission already in the balance is kept.

The full details are in the partner program guide.

How can you promote TimoDesk well?

The referrals that qualify are teams that keep using the product, so an accurate recommendation works best.

  • Describe what the product really does. TimoDesk tracks time on projects and tasks with desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, with activity levels, screenshots, app and website usage, and reports in a web dashboard. It costs $1 per user per month, and teams can try it free for 15 days with no card.
  • Show a real workflow. A walkthrough of the reports managers check every week tells a team lead more than a feature list does.
  • Match the feature to the audience. Staffing providers and agencies care about what their clients can see, so point them to the TimoDesk client portal.
  • Say that your link is a referral link. Readers trust a recommendation more when the relationship is clear.
  • Use one campaign per channel and sub-IDs for each placement, then check Reports to see which ones bring teams that qualify.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the TimoDesk affiliate program pay?

It pays $10 in cash for each organization you refer, once that organization has paid TimoDesk $10. The commission is paid once per organization, and your partner dashboard always shows the current amount and minimum deposit.

Do I need to be a TimoDesk customer to become a partner?

No. The partner portal is separate from the product, and you can refer teams without a TimoDesk subscription of your own. If you do use TimoDesk, your own organization cannot be credited to you as a referral.

When is a referral commission earned?

When the referred team's payments to TimoDesk reach the minimum deposit, which is $10. The commission goes into your balance as Available at that moment, with no holding period, and you get a notification and an email.

How do I get paid as a TimoDesk partner?

Request a withdrawal from the Withdrawals page, choose a payout method offered in your country, such as PayPal or bank transfer, and enter where to send the money. There is no minimum. The partner team reviews the request and marks it Paid with a payment reference.

Can I cancel a withdrawal request?

Yes, while it is still Pending. Click the cancel button on its row in the Withdrawals page, and the full amount goes back to your balance right away. Once a request is paid or rejected, it cannot be canceled.

Can I see which teams signed up through my link?

Yes. The Referrals page lists every team credited to you, newest first, with its status, campaign, source (link, coupon or manual) and deposit progress. Organization names are partly hidden to protect your referrals' privacy.
